This is the USS Loki, a Zeus class starship. These small ships are generally classed as scouts and as such are used to patrol the outer regions and borders of the Federation, reporting back on any threats, strange anomalies and running down pirate activities (especially near the Orion Territories). The Loki herself is commanded by captain Karl Roberts and is a part of the tenth fleet assigned to sector 442.

This model is based on one of the unnamed ships that leaves spacedock for Vulcan in the latest film, Star Trek. A relatively simple design, the ship's engineering hull is an extension of the command section. I cut off the shuttle bay from the engineering hull and then added it to the rear of the saucer section. I then cut the rear of the deck two away and blended both the upper deck and the shuttle bay with styrene. I then filled any little gaps and voids with putty and sanded the whole section smooth.

The decals are taken from the model's original sheet, which means I had to be a little creative with the name and number since there's not a lot to mix and match from.
