Pegasus Hobbies Apollo 27

By Eric Rogers

This is the Apollo 27 Rocket from Pegasus models. When you pull it out of the box it is a very simple kit to put together but after I looked at it for some time it looked like it was missing something. The ship looked more like something out an old black and white sci-fi movie and not like it came from NASA like the box shows. It just looked like it should have had more seams and a whole lot of rivets. Plus the cockpit was in line with one of the engines and that just seemed like it would be in the way. I cut it in half and rotated the rocket 45 Deg, carved in a few extra seams and used a butane soldering iron to add the rivets. I poked around the internet for awhile and found a site that sold glass dome for the display and it just looked right.
